     Prompt updates are essential to resolve issues (primarily exposure to various error codes and messages) that occur during video viewing.

     

    The Kollus Player is already available for use on various types of devices (PC, Tablet, Smart Phone, Set-top, etc…). However, considering updates for each browser and the countless number of already installed programs and network environments, numerous variables can arise. Catenoid is committed to rapid response upon the discovery of video playback issues.

     

    If normal operation is not achieved, we recommend attempting the execution test in at least two different browsers.

     

    Player Installation and Guide (App Player for Windows)

     

     

     

    If you click on video content when the Kollus Player is not installed, the system will guide you through the unified installation of the Html5 Player for PC.

     


     

    Select the installation location and click ‘next’.

     


     

    Upon the completion of the installation, you can verify the Player icon in the basic menu, the system tray, and in ‘Control Panel > Programs’. Specifically, a shortcut icon named ‘[Download Home]’ is created on the desktop. This icon serves a function generated for each end user to check the list of content that has been downloaded to the device with encrypted encoding applied, and to update the content provision-related DRM policy.  (The name and creation conditions of this icon may vary depending on the OVP’s adoption policy.)

     

    Kollus Video Player Security (Secure Player) Set-up



    Clicking the icon in the system tray will display the menu for the V3 features

     ● Information: This relates to the general specifics of the Kollus Player. To implement the DRM policy, you can check the system information,
        player version, H/W version, and storage (Disk) capacity information. It enables the desired DRM based on the unique Player ID generated 
        for each device.



    Cache Setting: This feature allows downloaded content to occupy device storage up to a certain maximum capacity. If the capacity is insufficient, the Cache can be deleted to secure the necessary storage space.

    Player Installation and Guide (App Player for macOS)

     

    When attempting to view content on a Mac environment, the installation of the Mac version of the Player is guided via a pop-up and a download link. If the Player is already installed, the system will check for permission to launch it.

     

      ● The size of this file is 14 Mbyte. Please follow the installation instructions for macOS, and upon completion, 

          an icon named “KollusPlayer_OSX” will be created.

     

     

    The installation requirement for the Mac-exclusive Player is Mac OS/X 10.13 High Sierra or higher. Manual installation of the dedicated Player is possible, and prior guidance regarding the user's browser and OS is necessary.

    In the Mac environment, the latest version is typically installed manually rather than automatically. In this case, please manually permit the installation under System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General.

     

     

    After installing the Player, if you are using the Safari Browser for video playback, a change in browser settings may be required.

    Player Installation and Guide (Mobile - Android / iOS)


    This is the Mobile Guide. When an End user who has subscribed to a website or app clicks on content to start viewing, a Kollus Player installation guide pop-up will appear, which then connects to the respective OS's App Market for installation. This Player is provided to End users who have subscribed to the relevant site and its content provider (company) utilizing the Kollus service. The Player is not intended for standalone use.

    Mobile Player Set-Up

     

     

     

    Due to the characteristics of mobile devices and their operating systems, there are differences in the UI. We continuously update the Player to maintain an optimal viewing environment.


      ● S/W Codec Priority: This is only applicable to Android. If the H/W codec is not supported, the S/W codec is engaged.


      ● Playback Speed Support:

        ○ Android: Supported within the range of 0.5X to 2.0X.

        ○ iOS: Supported within the range of 0.5X to 2.0X (Note: iPhone 4 only supports 0.5X to 1.2X).

     

      ● Player Information (Player ID): This is the unique ID value assigned to each device.


      ● Clear Cache: This deletes streaming cache files and temporary files; the actual downloaded content is not deleted. Downloaded files are

          deleted by selecting each piece of content on the main screen.

     

      ● Recommended Usage for Each Player:

        ○ App Player for Android (Recommended & Minimum Specs): OS: Android 5.0 or higher / CPU: 1.2 GHz Dual Core or higher / Device:  

           Samsung Galaxy S2 class or higher / Requires a minimum of 200MB free storage space.

        ○ App Player for iOS (Recommended & Minimum Specs): OS: iOS 7.0 or higher (Supports the latest Major version) / Device: 

           iPhone 4s or higher / Requires a minimum of 200MB free storage space.

            (Note: Audio watermarking and speed adjustment features are limited on iPhone 4.)

           ■ (Note: iPad 1 is an unsupported device for iOS 7.0 and is therefore limited.)

    Player Installation and Troubleshooting

    The Kollus Player is already available for use on various types of devices (PC, Tablet, Smart Phone, Set-top, etc…). However, considering updates for each browser and the countless number of already installed programs and network environments, numerous variables can arise. Catenoid is committed to rapid response upon the discovery of video playback issues.

     

    If normal operation is not achieved, we recommend attempting the execution test in at least two different browsers.

     

    Collisions can occur during player installation due to various variables, including the OS, browser, device-specific characteristics, conflicts with existing software, and network environment. This is a guide for when installation is not smooth.


    Installation and execution may be blocked due to firewall settings in public locations.

     

      ● Installation and execution may be blocked due to firewall settings in public locations. In corporate or public institution security program or network firewall 

         environments, installation and execution are sometimes blocked for non-permitted IPs or programs. To check this, click the Windows [Start] button and 

         [Run] button (or type directly after clicking the Windows icon on Windows 10), type 'CMD', and press Enter. The command prompt window will appear.

     


     

    In the command prompt window, type ping www.kollus.com and press Enter. If the response time is shown as 100ms or less, as in the content within the red border, the connection is normal.

     


     

    However, if you see the message “Request timed out,” the connection to the server for content playback is not smooth from the PC you are using. Contact the network administrator within your company or institution with this information and request a firewall exemption.

    Furthermore, when accessing from an external public internet environment (school, lecture hall, etc.), automatic installation may be blocked by virus monitoring programs or firewalls. Please attempt a manual installation and reconnect.

    In some public institutions and general companies, both the specific IP range and designated PORT must be opened in the firewall for player installation to be possible. This can be a very sensitive issue from the perspective of the security officer within each institution or company. We recommend consulting with the personnel in charge of external network access regarding this matter.

     

    Player Infinite Installation Loop

     

      ● If a virus check and security program block the player, installation may not proceed smoothly. In this case, there are methods for manual registration or 

         forced installation by copying the kollus player3 folder from a PC where the installation worked previously.

     

        ○ (Registration Method) – Open the CMD window with administrator privileges
           Navigate to the path: c:program files(x86)kollusplayer3 (for 64-bit OS) or c:program fileskollusplayer3 (for 32-bit OS), and
              enter the command: regsvr32 activexplayer.ocx"
        ○ Installation may be blocked by virus programs in public spaces. Manual installation is recommended.
        ○ Attempt re-installation after disabling the User Account Control feature (Control Panel > User Accounts) and resetting Internet settings (Control Panel > Internet Options).
            Reference: Action to take when Kollus Player installation or lecture video playback fails.
            □ Download the installation file from the link below, install it manually, and check. Kollus (V2/V3) Integrated Installation File: 
            □ If the PC user account does not have administrator privileges: Disable the User Account Control feature (Control Panel > User Accounts), reboot the PC, 
               and then verify.

    Error after Installation in Chrome Browser at Device Setup Stage

      ● The accessing device's DNS is automatically set by the local carrier or due to a user's custom settings, resulting in connection or playback failure

    Sudden Shutdown After Manual Installation

      ● This can occur if the security level of the anti-virus program is set too high. Try restoring it to the default settings.

    Installation File Download Failure

      ● Reset the Control Panel > Internet Options and try manual installation.

    Download Succeeds, but Installation Fails

      ● This happens if the user account on the device is corrupted. Setting up a new user account is recommended before attempting installation.

    Installation Failure on Tablets

      ● For Android: Android Settings > Applications tab > Settings (3 vertical dots in the upper right) > System App Settings > Kollus Player ON > Open Kollus App
         > Allow Storage Permission.

    Installation Failure on Samsung Internet Browser

      ● Samsung Internet > Settings > Appearance > Turn 'PC version view' OFF and check for normal operation.

    Player Loading/Installation Fails with "C:WindowsFontsV3Detect.ttf" Error

      ● The program cannot be installed normally because the operating system is unstable. Reinstallation of the Windows OS is recommended. Alternatively, try
          a temporary manual installation via the Registry

        ○ (Registration Method) – Open the CMD window with administrator privileges
        ○ Navigate to the path: c:program files(x86)kollusplayer3 (for 64-bit OS) or c:program fileskollusplayer3 (for 32-bit OS), and enter the command:

    播放器安裝與指南(行動裝置 - Android / iOS)




    以下為行動版使用指南。當已在網站或 App 訂閱的用戶點擊內容開始觀看時,系統將跳出 Kollus Player 安裝引導視窗,
    並連結至各 OS 的官方市集進行安裝。
    此播放器僅提供給已訂閱使用 Kollus 服務之內容提供商(公司)與其用戶使用,並非獨立使用的應用程式。


    行動播放器設定

     

    由於行動裝置及其 OS 的特性,UI 表現會有所差異。我們會持續更新播放器,以維持最佳觀看環境。

      S/W Codec Priority(軟體編解碼器優先):僅限 Android。若 H/W(硬體)編解碼器不支援,則會啟用 S/W(軟體)編解碼器。

      ● Playback Speed Support 播放速度調整支援
        Android: 支援 0.5X ~ 2.0X
        ○ iOS: 支援 0.5X ~ 2.0X

    當未安裝 Kollus Player 的情況下點擊影片內容時,系統會引導進行 PC 版 Html5 Player 的整合安裝。



    選擇安裝位置後,點擊「下一步」。



    完成安裝後,可在以下位置確認播放器圖示是否已建立:
      ● 基本選單
      ● 系統工具列(system tray)
      ● 控制台 > 程式集
    此外,桌面會生成名為 「[Download Home]」 的捷徑。此捷徑可供最終用戶檢視已下載內容(已加密儲存),
    並可更新內容提供端的 DRM 政策。( 該捷徑的名稱及建立條件可能因 OVP 的採用政策而異。)

    Kollus Video Player Security(Secure Player)設定


     
    點擊系統工具列中的圖示後,即可顯示 V3 功能選單。
      ● Information(資訊): 此為 Kollus Player 的一般資訊說明。為實施 DRM 政策,可查看系統資訊、播放器版本、硬體版本、
          以及儲存空間(Disk)相關資訊。同時,會為每台裝置生成唯一的 Player ID 以啟用所需的 DRM 功能。

    播放器安裝過程中可能發生的衝突 安裝播放器時,因 OS、瀏覽器、裝置特性、既有軟體衝突、
    以及網路環境等因素,可能產生安裝不順的情況。以下為相關排解指南。

    公共場所的防火牆設定可能阻擋安裝與執行


    在企業或公共機關網路環境中,因為安全程式或防火牆限制,未被允許的 IP 與程式可能無法安裝或執行。

    要確認此問題,請依以下步驟操作:

      ● 點擊 Windows [開始] 鈕
      ● 點擊 [執行](或在 Windows 10 點擊開始後直接輸入)
      ● 輸入 CMD 並按 Enter
      ● 開啟命令提示字元視窗


     
    在命令視窗中輸入:
    並按 Enter。
    若如紅框示例顯示 100ms 以下的回應時間,則連線正常。



    若訊息顯示:“Request timed out”
    則代表您目前使用的 PC 無法順利連線至內容播放伺服器。
    請將此情況告知公司/機關的網路管理員,並要求加入防火牆例外清單。
    另外,於學校、教室等公共網路環境中,
    自動安裝也可能被防毒程式或防火牆阻擋,
    此時請嘗試 手動安裝後重新連線。
    在部分機關或企業中,可能必須同時開放特定 IP 區段與指定 PORT,
    否則播放器無法安裝。
    由於這通常涉及安全性問題,建議向負責外部網路開放的管理人員洽詢。

    Player Infinite Installation Loop(無限重複安裝問題)

    若防毒或安全程式阻擋播放器,安裝可能無法順利進行。
    此時可採用以下方式:
    1) 手動註冊方式
    開啟「以系統管理員身分執行」之 CMD 視窗
    64 位元 OS 路徑:
    c:program files(x86)kollusplayer3
    32 位元 OS 路徑:
    c:program fileskollusplayer3
    在該位置輸入指令:
    regsvr32 activexplayer.ocx

    2) 可能在公共場所遭防毒程式阻擋 → 請手動安裝
    建議關閉 User Account Control(控制台 > 使用者帳戶),
    並重設網際網路設定(控制台 > 網際網路選項)後重新安裝。

    3) 安裝失敗/影片無法播放時的官方建議措施
    下載並手動安裝以下整合安裝檔:
    Kollus(V2/V3)整合安裝檔:
    若 PC 使用者帳戶沒有管理者權限:
    請停用 User Account Control、重新開機後再執行。

    Chrome 瀏覽器安裝後出現 Device Setup 錯誤
    若裝置的 DNS 被電信商自動變更或因自行設定導致,
    可能產生連線錯誤或播放失敗。

    手動安裝後突然關閉(自動退出)
    若防毒程式的安全等級設定過高可能導致此問題。
    請恢復至預設值後再試。

    安裝檔下載失敗
    請重設:
    控制台 > 網際網路選項
    然後重新嘗試手動安裝。

    下載成功但無法執行安裝
    這通常是因使用者帳戶損毀所致。
    建議建立新的使用者帳戶後重新嘗試安裝。

    平板裝置安裝失敗
    Android
    前往:
    設定 > 應用程式 > 右上三點 > 系統應用程式設定
    找到 Kollus Player → 開啟 → 啟用「儲存空間權限」

    Samsung Internet Browser 安裝失敗
    Samsung Internet > 設定 > 外觀 > 關閉「PC 版顯示模式」
    然後重新檢查是否正常運作。

    Player Loading / Installation 出現 “C:WindowsFontsV3Detect.ttf” 錯誤
    OS 若處於不穩定狀態,可能導致程式無法正常安裝。
    建議重新安裝 Windows。
    或可暫時使用以下方式進行手動註冊:

    Q. Screen recording/capture program conflict | error code 1002 

    A screen recording or capture program has been detected. Please close the program and try again. 
    If a screen recording or capture program is running and detected by Kollus Player, playback stops and the error code and message below appear.



    Windows

      ● (Win10) Since game recording features like Broadcast DVR Server (bcastdvr.exe) are equipped by default, we recommend deleting or disabling (OFF)
         the relevant recording program. 
      ● Also, after disabling, you must click 'Restart', not 'Shut down', to reboot.
      ● The Windows 10 default bundle Game Bar (gamebar.exe) and registry changes are included, and the recording function is often enabled by default. . 
      ● Depending on the situation, changes to Windows Registry settings may be required. We recommend this only if you have experience with 
         changing such settings.When checking Game Bar settings, uncheck "Open Game Bar using this button on a controller". After that, create a GameDVR item in Registry settings 
      ● ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindows 
      ● and save it as default only. You must click 'Restart' to reboot and check if the video plays normally. If you turn off the PC via 'Shut down' and restart, 
         the changed settings will not be applied.

      ● If there is an active capture program in the tray icon other than deletion from the Control Panel, it needs to be closed.



    Steam Program (steam) 

    There are cases where the recording usage process continues even after ending the XBOX background recording. If the Steam client for games 
    includes capture or recording functions, it may still conflict. Please play normally after closing the program.

     

    If the Steam client and steam.exe are installed and running, it recognizes the capture function and stops video playback. We recommend 
    deleting or closing the program. In the case of Steam Deck, it is not a recording function but a recording-related shortcut setting program, 
    but Kollus Player checks the operation of all 'recording' related programs. We recommend deleting or closing it. You must select 'Restart', not 'System Shutdown', to reboot.



    Chrome Remote Desktop 

      ● Error code 1002 is occurring due to Chrome remote program detection. 
      ● In the case of Chrome Remote Desktop, the program name appears as below.
      ● If the program name below appears with the error code, please refer to the browser section at the bottom of this page and delete it.



    Mac (Mac) OS 

      ● If viewing is not possible due to capture blocking, please check if QuickTime Player is closed. QuickTime Player includes a capture 
         recording function by default. In the case of Mac OS/X (Mac), completely terminate the process of the QuickTime program for Mac. 
         Screen recording function is included by default in the QuickTime program for Mac, and if QuickTime is running, Kollus Player will not run. 
         In the case of QuickTime, deletion is impossible as it is a default program of Mac OS. Therefore, please terminate the QuickTime program 
         from the program menu mentioned above. 
      ● You must open QuickTime Player and completely terminate the player from the top left bar. Screen recording function is built into the QuickTime 
          program for Mac. If QuickTime is running, Kollus Player will not run. 
      ● The screen capture function does not have a separate exit button. Therefore, you must force quit the process in Mac OS - Utilities - Activity Monitor. 
      ● If you want to force quit other capture programs besides QuickTime in the Mac OS environment, please check the Activity Monitor.

     

     

    Especially in the Mac (Mac) OS environment, points to check when lecture playback fails due to capture blocking;
      ● QuickTime Player: Open QuickTime Player and must completely terminate QuickTime Player from the top left bar.
      ● Screenshot (Screen Capture): The program does not have a separate exit button, so you must terminate the process in Mac OS - Utilities - Activity

    Browser 

    If there is a screen sharing function or recording function in browser extensions or add-ons other than the capture program installed on the device,  playback stops. 
    First, when using Chrome, we recommend disabling background execution and then using another browser.

    To delete the capture program, enter chrome://extensions/ in the Chrome browser address input window or delete the extension 
    according to the method below.

    Click the Chrome menu button (Customize and control icon) at the top right of the Chrome browser After clicking the Chrome settings menu (settings), 
    click on the top left of the settings page (settings) If there is a capture blocking program (App) in the extension list, click remove or delete button 
    Restart browser after removal is complete

      ● If it cannot be deleted, we recommend forcefully terminating the process in 'Task Manager'. It is often maintained active even after general exit.
      ● Even if a capture program is not found in the Chrome browser extensions of the PC, if there is a Chrome browser sync function, settings on another 
         PC may be reflected and the capture tool may be detected. If you disable the sync function, normal viewing is possible, but if you do not want to change 
         the settings, we recommend viewing in another browser.
      ● Capture programs within Chrome extensions include strings like nlipoenfbbikpbjkfpfillcgkoblgpmj, cdnmddhnbgepkaeogphkppeobbjkcpke. For detailed 
          information, refer to the capture program list at the bottom, and if a related popup appears, copy it, paste it into the support site search bar, and search.
      ● If there is a capture module in Chrome-Extensions, the following 2 methods are mainly recommended for solution. Recommend using another browser 
         while Chrome is not running. If you must use Chrome, delete the folder related to capture in the Chrome-Extension path below.
      ● Chrome-Extension path: In Windows-Run window Refer to %LOCALAPPDATA%GoogleChromeUser DataDefaultExtensions

    This occurs when your network transmission speed is lower than the average bitrate.

    若螢幕錄製或截圖程式正在執行並被 Kollus Player 偵測到,播放將會中斷,並產生如下的錯誤代碼與訊息。



    Windows

      ● (Win10) 預設搭載 Broadcast DVR Sever (bcastdvr.exe) 等遊戲錄影功能,建議刪除或停用 (OFF) 相關錄影程式。 
      ● 此外,停用後必須點擊「重新啟動」而非「關機」,以進行重新開機。
      ● 包含 Windows 10 基本隨附的 Game Bar (gamebar.exe) 與登錄檔 (registry) 變更,且錄影功能通常預設為啟用狀態。 
      ● 視情況而定,可能要求變更 Windows 登錄檔 (Windows Registry) 設定。僅建議有相關設定變更經驗者進行操作。 
          確認 Game Bar 設定時,請取消勾選「使用控制器上的這個按鈕開啟 Game Bar」。 
          之後在登錄檔設定 - 電腦HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindows 
      ● 中建立 GameDVR項目,並僅儲存為預設值。 務必點擊「重新啟動」重新開機後確認影片是否正常播放。
          若以「關機」關閉 PC 再重新啟動,變更的設定將不會套用。

    Steam 程式 (steam) 

    有關閉了 XBOX 的背景錄影,但錄影使用程序仍持續運作的情況。 若為了遊戲的 Steam 用戶端包含截圖、錄影功能,仍可能會發生衝突。請關閉該程式後正常播放。

     

    若 Steam 用戶端及 steam.exe 安裝並運作,將會識別該截圖功能並停止影片播放。建議刪除或關閉該程式。 若是 Steam Deck,雖然不是錄影功能而是錄影相關快捷鍵設定程式,但 Kollus Player 會檢查所有關於「錄影」程式的運作。建議刪除或關閉。 務必選擇「重新啟動」而非「關機」來重新開機。



    Chrome Remote Desktop 

      ● 因偵測到 Chrome 遠端程式導致發生 1002 錯誤代碼。 
      ● Chrome 遠端桌面的情況下,會顯示如下的程式名稱。 
      ● 若錯誤代碼與下方程式名稱一同出現,請參考該頁面下方的瀏覽器說明並予以刪除。


    Mac (Mac) OS 

      ● 若因截圖攔截導致無法觀看,請確認 QuickTime Player 是否已關閉。QuickTime Player 預設包含截圖錄影功能。 Mac OS/X (Mac) 的情況下,請完全結束 
         Mac 用 QuickTime 程式的程序。Mac 用 QuickTime 程式內預設包含螢幕錄影功能,若 QuickTime 正在執行,Kollus Player 將不會執行。 QuickTime 由於是 
         Mac OS 的預設程式,因此無法刪除。因此請依上述程式選單將 QuickTime 程式進行結束處理。

    瀏覽器 (Browser)

    該截圖程式的刪除請在 Chrome 瀏覽器網址輸入列輸入 chrome://extensions/ 或依照下方方法刪除擴充程式。
